Located in the Mirafiori Sud neighborhood, the Mausoleum of Bela Rosin is a neoclassical building, an exact copy of the Pantheon in Rome, but much less famous.A splendid but little-known work in Turin itself, it is perfect for an unusual Turin city itinerary.Designed by architect Angelo Demezzi, the Bela Rosin Mausoleum was built between 1886 and 1888.It was built as a family tomb by the children of Rosa Vercellana, nicknamed the Bela Rosin, the morganatic wife of Victor Emmanuel II.The building, as already mentioned, is a scaled replica of the Roman Pantheon, the burial place of her own husband Victor Emmanuel II.The circular plan has a diameter of about sixteen meters and as many meters in height. On the outside, the pediment bears the insignia of the Counts of Mirafiori and the motto "DIO PATRIA FAMILY."The Mausoleum is located within a park overlooking Mirafiori Castle Road, on the border between the municipalities of Turin and Nichelino. In 1970 the City of Turin purchased the burial ground from Rosa Vercellana's last descendant, Vittoria Guerrieri Gromis di Trana, and in 1972 the park was opened to the public.
