Christ Light

The Cristo Luz monument is a popular tourist attraction located in Balneário Camboriú, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. The monument depicts an illuminated statue of Christ the Redeemer, with outstretched arms, located on top of a hill overlooking the city.The Cristo Luz was inaugurated in 1997 and quickly became one of the main tourist attractions in Balneário Camboriú. The statue is about 33 meters tall and its lighting changes color depending on the occasion. During the Christmas holidays, for example, the statue is lit with red and green lights, while during Easter it is illuminated with blue and white lights.Visitors can access the Cristo Luz statue via a staircase that climbs to the top of the hill. The panoramic view of the city and the Brazilian coastline is spectacular, especially at sunset or at night when the monument is illuminated. There are also some souvenir stores and restaurants nearby, where visitors can buy souvenirs or enjoy local cuisine.
