Chang and Eng Memorial Statue

The statues were erected in memory of Chang-Eng, the Siamese twins who made Thailand world famous.The Chang-Eng Siamese Twins Monument celebrates the lives of the famous conjoined twins, Chang and Eng, who brought great renown to Thailand. Statues of the brothers stand in the center of a vast grounds, surrounded by trees and flowers. A pond nearby gives the monument a pleasant atmosphere.One room presents the biography of Chang and Eng, natives of Samut Songkhram. Born in 1811, the twins met an American merchant who took them on a boat trip to the United States, where they were greeted by a fascinated public. They died at the age of 63, having made their nationality, Siamese, synonymous with their status. In addition, the hall houses an area dedicated to a boat museum.
